IRINA RASKINA

JOURNALIST, TRAVELLER, GOURMET

A native of Moscow, I have been living in Rome for 30 years, but I have kept a spiritual connection with my Motherland. I am proud of Russian culture and try to introduce it to the Italians. I have always been interested in the rich culinary history of Italy and personally acquainted with many famous chefs, restaurateurs, vintners and food producers. After completing a sommelier course in Italy, I have been constantly enlarging my knowledge, regularly participating in almost all related events to be aware of the Italian enogastronomy development. The main objectives of my journalistic activity is popularization of the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy, the Mediterranean diet, Italian products and wines made for domestic and foreign markets, as well as coverage of important mass media events in Italy such as festivals, forums, presentations, historical balls, art exhibitions, fairs, food- and wine-tastings, poetry evenings etc. I seek to cooperate closely with Russian-language publishers and media in the EU and with the Italian media as well, highlighting bilingually Italian cultural activities, the latest trends in fashion, enogastronomy and art.
